After the political change, his opponents have filed several false cases against him. Along with this, death threats were being made. Locals said that Md. Mashiur Rahman was a well-known and honest businessman in Baitul Mukarram Market in Dhaka. He is famous in the TV and air conditioner business. He is also popular as the Honorary Consul General of Belize in Bangladesh, Treasurer of Munshiganj District Awami League and Chairman of Banglabazar Union.

Family sources have learned that the opposition has filed several political cases against Md. Mashiur Rahman and his father on charges of being involved with the ruling Awami League. They have also been threatened with death. Considering the unfavorable situation and the future of his wife and children, Md. Mashiur Rahman has left the country and taken refuge in another country.

Several locals, on condition of anonymity, said that for the past few months, Md. Mashiur Rahman was in extreme danger of death. He was often threatened. On the one hand, one lie after another. On the other hand, he was living in fear due to threats to his life. He was disoriented due to the increasing pressure. The situation was not favorable at all. Leaders and activists of the opposition political party were threatening him. It became difficult to live a normal life amidst this fear. So he took the opportunity and left the country with his family.
